These terms apply to the Instead Android app (com.mindfulness.usage). The operator is Petru Trimbitas, authorized natural person (PFA), Romania. Contact: petru.trimbitas@gmail.com.
By installing or using Instead you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, uninstall the app.
1. What Instead is
Instead lets you set usage limits on this device and, if you enable the optional Accessibility service, tries to close a limited app after its cap is reached and show replacements you chose. It is a self-control tool, not medical, parental-control, or disability-assistive software.
2. What Instead cannot promise
Enforcement depends on Android, OEM battery rules, and permissions you grant. You can disable Usage Access, disable the Accessibility service, force-stop the app, or use another profile. Limits may fail on some devices. Paid access is for extra limits and convenience, not a guarantee that a blocked app can never be opened.
3. Your responsibilities
You must be old enough to contract (18+ where that is the age of majority). You decide which apps to limit. Do not use Instead to control another person’s device without their knowledge.
4. Permissions
Usage Access and Accessibility are optional in Android’s sense but required for the product to work as described. Each has an in-app disclosure and an explicit consent step before Instead opens system settings. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
5. Paid features
Instead Plus is sold through Google Play. Price, trial, renewal, and cancellation are described on the subscription page and in Play. Google’s terms also apply to the purchase.
6. Availability
We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. We will not take away limits you already created only because a trial ended; creating more than the free cap after the trial requires Plus.
7. Liability
Instead is provided as-is. To the extent Romanian and EU consumer law allows, we are not liable for lost time, missed notifications, or a limit that did not fire. Mandatory consumer rights in your country are not limited by this sentence.
8. Law
Romanian law applies. EU consumers may also rely on the mandatory rules of their country of residence. Disputes can be brought before the competent courts in Romania or, for consumers, the courts of your place of residence.
